Brittany Warner 1916
jimmy fallon I left the Big Apple for St. Patrick’s Day and ventured upstate to party at a small town pub…go to a local bar and play with the band.
The ‘Tonight Show’ host arrived at the Iron Smoke Distillery in Fairport, New York, just outside of Rochester, on Friday. In fact, he knows the owner of the bar across the street, Mulconry’s Irish Pub, and apparently heard the 1916 musicians rocking out… being intrigued.
We’re told Jimmy showed up towards the end of the 1916 set and asked if he could play with them before they left. Of course they obligated and stayed to listen to a few more songs. As many people know, JF is a bit of a music man…and a natural showman.
That came in handy for the three songs they performed, including The Doors’ “Gloria,” The Georgia Satellites’ “Keep Your Hands to Yourself,” U2’s “Desire,” and others. Jimmy took over on lead guitar and vocals…and all the other band members backed him up.
After taking the stage, we’re told Jimmy stayed for a while and took photos with the customers… capping off a great moment for everyone. It seems he wanted his vacation to be a little more low-key and down-to-earth…and he certainly got that with the Iron Smoke crowd that night.
We’ll see if he has more to say about his night out on Monday… when he’s back at work late into the night, with his own band on hand. This is just a good reminder: the guy could probably jump out on his own at any moment and fight back.
Good old Jimmy… gotta love him.
